Lyttelton, a quaint historical town is 20 minutes drive south east from the Christchurch city center. The harbour was formed 11 million years ago when a massive volcano erupted and the sea filled the crater. Harbour Lodge offers you the unique experience of amazing sunrises, colourful sunsets and panoramic views of moving ships, ferries, boats and yachts.

Your hosts, Frank and Jenny

We welcome you to Harbour Lodge and are available for interactions during your stay. We have travelled extensively in New Zealand and overseas, we understand the importance of local advice to maximise your travel experience in Christchurch and other New Zealand destinations of your travels. We would love to share our kiwi culture and local knowledge with you.

Frank is semi-retired from civil construction and his hobbies include travel, motorbikes, rugby and watching movies. Jenny is a Business Consultant and her hobbies include travel, rugby, watching movies, cooking and reading. Jenny speaks English, Bahasa Malaysia and Cantonese.

Getting Around

A short stroll down the hill are local cafes, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, library, art gallery and tourist attractions. Public transport is 10 minutes walk away. We are 20 minutes to Christchurch central city and 35 minutes from Christchurch Airport. Local ski field, Methven Mt Hutt and natural hot springs, Hanmer Springs are 1.5 hours drive from Lyttelton.
